| Book Printing Options |
Before you create your book, we recommend that you decide how you want your images to be displayed in your book. This section introduces key considerations in your book design.
Single-sided and Double-sided Printing
When you design your book, you have the option of selecting either single-sided printing or double-sided printing. Pricing is based on each printed page/side. Each sheet of paper in a book has two pages/sides. There is no cost benefit for selecting one print option over the other regardless of total page count.

There will be nothing printed on the back of Title Page (or Page 1 if you deleted the Title Page). The next printed page in your book will be Page 2 (printed on the right side).

All even numbered pages in your book will be printed on the left and all odd numbered pages will be printed on the right.

The Title Page will be Page 1 and will be printed on the right-hand side. If you delete the Title Page, Page 1 will be your first page of photos, and will be printed on the right-hand side. Page 2 will be printed on the left-hand side. Page 3 will be printed on the right-hand side facing Page 2, etc.
There is nothing printed on the back of the cover page, regardless of what type of printing you select.
Minimum page requirement: 20 pages/sides (20 sheets of paper printed on the right side only). Maximum page limit: 50 pages/sides (50 sheets of paper printed on the right side only). At the 51st page, the software will automatically choose double-sided printing.
If your book contains fewer than 20 pages (single-sided), the remaining pages will be printed blank. There will be a message prompt asking you whether or not you want to remove these blank pages when you purchase your book. You will be charged the 20-page minimum if your book contains fewer than 20 pages.

Single-sided printing is the default setting for books that have 50 pages or less. If you are creating a single-sided printed book and your book reaches the 51st page, your images will automatically move to create the double-sided pages. This may shift your images without their captions. Captions are linked to pages, not to images.
Also, when you switch from single-sided printing to double-sided printing, some photos on the even-numbered pages will switch positions. This will happen only on even-numbered pages where there are multiple photos on a page and only when the photos are in a side-by-side layout. For these reasons, it is extremely important that you Preview each page carefully to ensure that all of your images and captions are in the proper position.
Click on the 1 Page view in the Preview Toolbar located above the grey-striped design mat to get an idea of what your book will look like when it is printed single-sided. Carefully preview your book for proper image and caption layout before submitting it.
Minimum page requirement:
20 pages/sides (10 sheets of paper printed
on both sides).
Maximum page limit: 100
pages/sides (50 sheets of paper printed on both sides).
Pages left blank are included in the page count and total cost of the book.

For the Classic Hardcover and Deluxe Hardcover Books, Page 1will be the Title Page and will be printed on the right-hand side. If you delete the Title Page, Page 1 will be your first page of photos and will be printed on the right-hand side. The image and text you choose for the Cover Page Template will only appear on the cover's Classic Label or in the cover's Picture window.
For the Paperback PocketBooks, the first page will have the image and text that you put in the Cover Page Template printed on the right-hand side. When you turn the page, there is nothing printed on the left-hand side (the back of the cover page).
You can place either a horizontal or a vertical image in the Cover Page Template. HOWEVER, if you choose a vertical image, it will display through the horizontal Peek-through window, in the Picture Window or on the horizontal Classic Label with wide white borders on the left and the right sides of the image. We strongly recommend that you do not leave the Cover Page Template blank. Doing so will result in a blank white page showing through the Window or a blank Classic Label on the cover.
Click on the 2 Pages view in the Preview Toolbar located above the grey-striped design mat. This will give you an idea of what your book will look like when it is printed. Images in the preview that appear on the left will be printed on the left-hand side. Images that appear on the right will be printed on the right-hand side.
Carefully Preview your book for proper image and text layout before submitting it.
