Classic Hardcover Books and Deluxe Hardcover Books have the option of either a horizontal Picture Window or a horizontal Classic Label for displaying the cover image and the text below it.
The Picture Window cover has a self-contained window created by encasing the cover page with a grey, archival-quality interior page. The cover photo and book title you choose for your Cover Page Template shows within the frameless window.
The Classic Label cover displays your Cover Page Template photo and title on a high-quality, picture stock label that is adhered to the middle of the front cover.
With either the Picture Window or the Classic Label, the first page of your book will be the Title Page, or your first page of images if you choose not to have a Title Page, printed on the right-hand side. The image and title you choose for your Cover Page Template will only appear on the cover.
The covers on all MyPublisher Paperback PocketBooks feature a horizontal Peek-through Window for viewing the Cover Template. The cover image and the text below it that you place in the Cover Page Template will be both the cover image displayed through the window and the first page of your book (printed on the right-hand side).
You can place either a horizontal or a vertical image in the Cover Page Template. HOWEVER, if you choose a vertical image, it will display through the horizontal Peek-through Window, in the Picture Window or on the Classic Label with wide white borders on the left and the right sides of the image.
We strongly recommend that you do not leave the Cover Page Template blank. Doing so will result in a blank white page showing in the window or a blank label on the cover. There is nothing printed on the back of the cover page (left-hand side).

MyPublisher's BookMaker software offers many design and layout options to organise your photos and create your customised photo book. The Theme determines the style of placement of the photos on each page. The Template specifies the number of pictures you want to have on each page. You can choose one of the Templates offered within the theme or custom select a template for each page using the Advanced feature.
When you choose a Theme for your book, it is applied to your entire book. Multiple themes cannot be used in one book. However, the Various Mixed theme combines features offered in the other four themes for maximum flexibility.
The placement of the pictures and captions on the page changes with each Theme and Template combination. This is displayed in the rectangular white area in the grey-striped design mat. If you change themes or templates during the design of a book, please be sure to Preview every page of your book before purchasing.
To select your theme, make sure you're in Book mode, then go to the lower right-hand corner of the screen and select your desired theme using the drop-down menu.
Horizontal images should be placed into horizontal frames and vertical images should be placed in vertical frames. Use the Advanced feature to select the ideal frame for your photos.
There are 5 Themes to choose from: Just Photos, Modern, Story Teller, Traditional and Various Mixed.
The charts below summarise which templates are available in which themes:

To reduce the number of pictures on a page, simply leave one of the photo frames blank. Photo frames that are left blank will be printed as white space. The grey frames shown in the Preview will not print on the page.

With the full-bleed template, the image is printed to the edge of the page on all sides. Full-bleed horizontal images take up the entire page. There is no white border surrounding the image. Full-bleed vertical images are printed to the edge of the page on the top and bottom but have a white border on the left and on the right of the photo.
The full-bleed option is available in the Just Photos theme and certain templates in the Various Mixed theme. Captions, Footers and Page Numbers cannot be added to full-bleed pages.
The Classic Hardcover and Deluxe Hardcover Books have the option of either a Picture Window or a Classic Label for viewing the cover image and the text below it. The image and text you place in the Cover Page Template will only appear on the cover of the album. The first page of your book will be the Title Page.
The covers on all MyPublisher PaperBack PocketBooks books have a horizontal Peek-through Window or a Classic Label for viewing the cover image and the text below it. The image and text that you place in the Cover Page Template will be both the cover image and the first page of your book (printed on the right-hand side). There is nothing printed on the back of the cover page (left-hand side).
You can place either a horizontal or a vertical image in the Cover Page Template. HOWEVER, if you choose a vertical image, it will display through the horizontal Peek-through Window, in the Picture Window or on the Classic Label with wide white borders on the left and the right sides of the image. Because of the cover image and text displaying on the cover of the book, we strongly recommend that you do not leave the Cover Page Template blank. Doing so will result in a blank page showing through the window or a blank label on the cover.
Beneath your cover photo, there are two title caption boxes for book titles. If you leave any of these title captions boxes blank, blank background space will be printed in its place. The cover image will not expand to compensate for the empty space.
The Title Page is a Text-Only template. Photos cannot be inserted in the Title Page. The Title Page is the first page after the Cover Page Template in all themes and is printed on the right-hand side of the book.

If you enter too many characters into a caption box the text will turn red. A pop up box will notify you that you have entered too much text. You will need to delete words until the text in the caption box turns black again.
| To change the alignment of the text: | ||
![]() |
You do not need to highlight the text in the Caption Editor to change the alignment of the text.
![]() |
Click on one of the three text alignment selections located to the left of the font selection box.
![]() |
You have the option to left-justify, centre, or right-justify the text.
Leaving text boxes blank

the area will appear as blank background space.
The text box outline you see on the screen will
not be printed.
Cutting and pasting text from another document
We recommend that you do not cut and paste text from a different application. Imported text may not translate properly when processed to our press, even though it appears correctly in the Preview.
| If you do cut and paste text, we urge you to re-type the following characters once you have imported them into BookMaker: | ||
![]() |
Apostrophes | |
![]() |
Quotation Marks | |

Ellipses | |

![]() |
Repeat this process for the second text box on the cover page.
![]() |
Red text means that the error has not been corrected.
There are 8 different fonts offered in BookMaker. Each theme offers a unique selection of fonts and font sizes. The fonts and font sizes are fixed and cannot be mixed within a caption box. Fonts cannot be deleted or added to BookMaker.
